Jerry and Lynn--Antonio and I had great fun with you on the Hell's Canyon jet boat tour and the community BBQ in Halfway. That was us in the silver MDX that slowed to wave at you as you were leaving the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and heading to Baker City late Sunday afternoon.
Jerry, you are right on about American values being alive and well between the East Coast and the Left Coast. I had a similar experience in my cross-county MC tour of two-lane blacktop and small towns several years ago.
I'll be following your blog to see how you like the rest of Oregon.
Hope you find the "shoe trees" near John Day fun and the fossil beds interesting.

This is John & Barb; we met at the Sacajawea site between Dillon and Jackson, MT. We're that lazy couple riding in comfort mounted on the 100+ hp Honda Goldwing.
It was truly inspirational meeting you and we have thought of you and wished you well in our thoughts ever since. Must be getting exciting for you to be so close to meeting your goal...I'm sure the sight of the Pacific Ocean will be a very rewarding and emotional moment. Congratulations and thanks for all you are doing to make this a better planet and a better society.
Don't forget to look us up in the San Francisco Bay Area if you pass through. We will be at your disposal for anything you may need.

Last Saturday May 31, Jerry and Lynne Lisenby spent the evening/night with me and several members of my bass fishing club during their cross country journey.
We had a fishing tournament scheduled in Golconda, IL and rented an old farmhouse for the weekend. Jerry, Lynne and their travel partner John rode up looking for a place to rest before they moved on to a campground several miles down the road.
They wound up pitching their tent alongside our farmhouse and joined us for dinner, guitar music, and a night of rest.
